The 1989 shoot was a collaboration between the world’s largest advertising agency Dentsu, SONY, Canon and the renowned Tokyo film laboratory, Imagica. Essential was commissioned to provide production management services. A barge was chartered to transport the trucks with a portable studio and massive HD cameras to one of Australia’s cinematic treasures, Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island in the Great Barrier Reef.
In the intervening decades, HD has become refined and replaced all other inferior video media.
